Floret Center for Advanced Genomics and Bioinformatics Research Announces Selection of 16 Promising Scientists for August 2024 FESIP Cohort
[Lagos, 29 August 2024] — Floret Center for Advanced Genomics and Bioinformatics Research (The Floret Center) proudly announces the selection of 16 exceptional early-career scientists for the August 2024 cohort of the Floret Emerging Scientists Internship Program (FESIP). This program is designed to equip the next generation of leaders in genomics and bioinformatics with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to excel in this rapidly evolving field.
The selected interns, who come from a wide range of academic disciplines, are currently studying and conducting research across five countries: Cameroon, India, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Zambia. This diverse cohort brings together budding researchers across diverse fields such as Computer Engineering, Parasitology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Health Sciences, Human Medicine, and Veterinary Medicine, creating a rich interdisciplinary environment.

Orientation Session
The official Introduction and Orientation Session for the August 2024 FESIP cohort took place on Monday, 26 August 2024, via a video link. The session provided an overview of the program, introduced the interns, and outlined the exciting journey ahead.
