FESIP 2025/2026 Cohort Inauguration Marks the Start of a Transformative Journey

The Floret Center for Advanced Genomics and Bioinformatics Research is thrilled to officially announce the inauguration of the Floret Emerging Scientists Internship Program (FESIP) 2025/2026 Cohort. The new cohort of brilliant minds was formally welcomed during a virtual ceremony held on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
A Highly Distinguished Cohort
We proudly welcome this exceptional group of 20 Emerging Scientists from seven different countries to the FESIP. This cohort represents remarkable academic diversity, with individuals from fields including: Animal Science, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Human Physiology, Medical Laboratory Science, Medicinal Chemistry, Microbiology, Parasitology, Pharmacy, Statistics, and Veterinary Medicine.
The selected interns are now embarking on a 42-week transformational journey designed to inspire innovation and cultivate scientific excellence in crucial areas of computational life sciences.

Now in its second year, FESIP continues its dedicated mission: Empowering the Next Generation of Researchers in Genomics and Computational Life Sciences.
The program provides a customized, learn-at-your-pace, practical experience at the intersection of biology, computing, and data science, preparing these emerging leaders to drive the next generation of breakthroughs in African and global health challenges.
